Scavenger AI will make Europe’s SMEs data-fit - secured 2.5 million euro seed funding
Frankfurt, 30.10.2025 - European SMEs sit on huge amounts of data. They do not need more tools; they need answers. Around 70% of SMEs still do not use a modern business intelligence solution. Scavenger AI aims to change that: with an AI platform that makes accessing company data as easy as asking a question.
The €2.5 million seed funding round was led by BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH (BMH), with participation from xdeck, a public innovation fund, as well as existing investors High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Calm/Storm Venture. With the capital, the company aims to address a market potential of around €2.45 billion in Europe, accelerate product development, and expand across Europe.
Data analysis reimagined: From question to answer - in seconds
Founded by Felix Beissel and Maximilian Hahnenkamp (Forbes 30 Under 30), Scavenger addresses one of the biggest problems many companies face: the gap between data availability and data usage. Many companies store their information in different systems (ERP, CRM, SQL databases), but accessing it requires technical know-how or IT waiting times. Scavenger AI turns every employee into a data analyst.
Whether in finance, operations, or sales, Scavenger AI transforms tables and dashboards through a simple interface. Teams no longer have to search for data or wait for reports; they simply ask: “How are our cost centers evolving?” or “Which projects are over budget and why?” Scavenger delivers the answer in seconds, transparently and understandably.
“Our goal is simple: Every employee should be able to make data-driven decisions without writing a single line of code,” says co-founder Maximilian Hahnenkamp. “We are the European counter-model to US tech companies. European SMEs deserve AI that is safe, explainable, and tailored to their needs, not an opaque black box approach,” adds co-founder Felix Beissel.
Developed for the Backbone of Europe: the Mittelstand
Scavenger is already supporting leading companies like Telekom, Mann & Schröder, and Wangen Pumpen in the smart use of data. Developed in Europe for European companies, Scavenger stands out from US BI tools. Designed for the 98% of SMEs in the DACH region, it combines enterprise-level analytics with GDPR compliance, thereby providing a form of business intelligence that has not existed in this form within the European Mittelstand.
„With Scavenger AI, we are investing in a founding team that understands the challenges of medium-sized companies very well. The solution enables efficient use and protection of data, increases productivity and competitiveness, and thus makes a decisive contribution to digital transformation - with clear scaling potential,” says Sebastian Schnell, Senior Investment Manager at BMH.
